Cool Guy
On this day in 1936 - The St. Louis Cardinals visit Cuba and are beaten by the Cuban all-stars. Starting pitcher for the Cubans is Luis Tiant, Sr., whose son “Looooueeeey” will win 229 major league games, mostly for the Indians and Red Sox. (Shown is a 1977 Topps) -Story by Gordon Davis

Tough Competition
In January of 1953 - The Hall of Fame passes over Joe DiMaggio in his first year of eligibility and elects pitcher Dizzy Dean and outfielder Al Simmons to Cooperstown. Simmons drove in 100 runs in each of his first eleven major league seasons. Dean had a .644 career winning percentage and won 30 games in 1934. -Gordon Davis

Special Thanks To Gordon Davis
Gordon does some writing of a style that I personally like.It is about baseball, short & sweet, with lots of room for conversation and remembering YesterYear. Thanks Gordon.
Oswalt To ? ? ?
Roy Oswalt is on the verge of becoming a member of the St Louis Cardinals, pending a physical.Looks like Milwaukee has decided that winning is not that important.
